Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the 2018 Aviator 110 cc scooter in the country with prices starting at Rs. 55,157 (ex-showroom,Delhi). The Honda Aviator is the two-wheeler maker's more consistently selling offering in the 110 cc segment, having been around for almost a decade now.

With the 2018 edition, Honda has improved the scooter's feature list even further with additional equipment on offer. The powertrain though remains the same on the Honda Aviator with the power coming from the 110 cc engine that is shared with the Honda Activa in the company's line-up. Unlike the latter though, the Aviator is positioned as a premium offering in this space, while the overall bold and stylish design gives it a strong presence on roads. The 2018 Honda Aviator is available in three variants which are standard, alloy drum and alloy disc. Honda Aviator Looks The Honda Aviator looks stylish in appearance and the design largely gets a bold look thanks to the strong lines.

The all-metal body and metallic finished panels ensure the premium quotient is high on the scooter when compared to other offerings in the segment. The Aviator has a strong visual presence and comes with the wide front apron. The vertically stacked turn indicators are different and the satin finished panel lends a premium touch. The headlight cluster on the scooter is now an LED unit that also comes with the Aviator signature inside it.

The side panels are large and extend well into the taillight that gets a clear lens cluster and a massive single-piece grab rail. The updated Honda Aviator also comes with a new and more durable metal muffler protector finished in gloss black, while the alloy wheels are finished in brushed silver. The plastic panels along with the seat are finished in a contrast brown shade. The Honda Aviator is offered in four colour options - Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Amazing White, and Matte Selene Silver Metallic. Honda Aviator Engine Specifications & Transmission The Honda Aviator is powered by the 109 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is seen on a host of Honda scooters. The motor is tuned to produce 8 bhp of power at 7,000 rpm and 8.94 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) unit, while the scooter also comes with the two-wheeler maker's Honda Eco Technology (HET) that promises to improve fuel efficiency even further by reducing engine friction.

Honda Aviator Dimensions The Honda Aviator measures 1802 mm in length, 703 mm in width and 1162 mm in height, making it considerably longer and wider than the other offerings in this segment. The Aviator's wheelbase stands at 1256 mm, while the ground clearance is an appreciable 145 mm. The scooter is slightly taller too than most other offerings in the 110 cc scooter space, especially with a seat height of 790 mm.

That said, the Honda Aviator has a slightly larger fuel tank of six litres, while the kerb weight is measured at 106 kg. Much like the other Honda offerings, an under bone frame also underpins the Honda Aviator. Honda Aviator Features The Aviator has been updated with features such as LED headlamp and position lamp, and it also gets a 4-in-1 lock which can be used to turn the ignition and open the seat as well. The lock feature was first introduced on the Grazia and has since then made it to a number of offerings in Honda's stable. The Aviator also comes with a front hook and a retractable hook near the floorboard as part of its latest upgrades. The all-analog instrument console on the Aviator continues to remain the same, while the under seat storage stands at a capacity of 20 litres. The Honda Aviator also comes with a mobile charging socket that can be purchased separately.

Honda Aviator Performance & Mileage The Honda Aviator has a top speed of 82 kmph, as per the company and the 109 cc motor on the scooter ensures that you get linear acceleration throughout the rev range. Being lighter than the Activa, the Aviator feels peppy to ride and is confident around corners too. The Honda Aviator's ride quality is impressive and remains one of the more refined in the segment. With respect to mileage, the Honda Aviator claims a fuel efficiency figure of 60 kmpl, which is on par with most rivals. Honda Aviator Braking & Handling The Honda Aviator uses drum and disc brakes, depending on the variant you choose. The base variant uses 130 mm drum brakes at either end, while the top-end grade uses a 130 mm front disc brake, while a drum brake is used at the rear.

The scooter also comes with the Combi-Braking System (CBS) with Equalizer for additional braking control. The Honda Aviator uses telescopic forks up front, while the rear gets a spring loaded hydraulic type unit at the rear. Honda Aviator Wheels & Tyres The Honda Aviator rides on 90/90 section front and 90/100 section rear tyres wrapped in alloy wheels. The scooter uses a 12-inch unit at the front and a 10-inch unit at the rear. The scooter also comes with tubeless tyres as standard.
